I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize the upcoming bout.

Ex twice world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
