Approximately fifty cars have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Cars, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement say they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.
The fluid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Police then located numerous other marked automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police state initial examinations show the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; officials are currently not informed of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they added.
Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have asked to the public for details.
A high-ranking official stated the vandalism rendered him speechless and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This incident affects the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
